Will it fit my van or camper conversion?
It fits any van with a standard 2-inch hitch receiver. Slide the yoke into the receiver and turn the locking knob. No tools and no adapters.
Is it sturdy enough for extended boondocking stops?
Yes. It locks to the vehicle frame, not the ground, so it stays stable on gravel, dirt, and uneven campsite terrain.
Can I work from it, or is it just for sitting?
Both. The seating positions swivel 360° and the swing arms move 180°, so you can turn and face the open rear of the van and use it as a desk, prep station, or eating area. Two height settings let you pick a dining height or a lower lounge height.

How fast is setup at a campsite or trailhead?
Under 30 seconds. It slides into the hitch and locks with one turn. No pins, no tools, no assembly.
Can it handle gravel, sand, mud, or an uneven campsite?
Yes. The system mounts to your van's steel frame through the hitch, so it stays stable on rough ground instead of sinking or wobbling like a folding chair. Each seating position supports up to 275 pounds.
How much space does it take up in the van?
Very little. Fold the backs down, swing the arms in, and it folds clamshell flat into table mode. It also comes with a padded carrying bag that stores easily inside the van.

The Beginning
A Simple but Brilliant Idea
The Beginning
Tailbreaker started as a solution to a problem. The inventor, George Otta and his father were cutting trees in the bush and when lunchtime arrived had nowhere to sit, except on the hard uncomfortable tailgate of their pickup truck. George imagined a solution — it would be nice to sit on comfortable chairs while using the tailgate as a convenient lunch spot. The seats also needed to be comfortable, easy to use, and part of the truck. And so, Tailbreaker was born.
Evolved Tailgating
George's vision extended beyond the lake. Tailbreaker would be perfect for tailgating parties at NFL, University, college, and local football games. Over the past two decades, tailgating has evolved from an occasional pastime to an integral part of sports fans' lives nationwide. Tailbreaker is an evolution in tailgate seating. The time has come for a better solution than sitting on lawn chairs or coolers... Tailbreaker!
Product Development
Once George put the concept of Tailbreaker on paper, he set out to bring his vision to life. The first prototype was built and the process of creating the perfect Tailbreaker began. Over the next 4 years, George's original concept evolved into the durable, comfortable, and easy-to-install Tailbreaker of today.
