A mobile work station should do more than carry tools from one job to the next. It should help you work smarter, stay comfortable, and keep your truck ready for action.
The Tailbreaker turns a pickup truck into a mobile work site, truck mobile office, and jobsite Command Center. It gives contractors, electricians, plumbers, roofers, inspectors, and first responders a stable place to sit, plan, eat, and handle paperwork, without blocking the truck bed.
No working on your knees. No sinking folding chairs. No clearing your tailgate every time you need a place to work.
Why most work truck setups fall short
A busy jobsite is rarely clean or level. You may be working on mud, gravel, broken ground, or a sloped driveway. Your choices are often limited:
- Kneel beside the truck to review plans.
- Sit on a cooler or tool case.
- Balance on a folding chair that wobbles.
- Work from the cab with no room for drawings or gear.
- Eat lunch standing up or on the hard tailgate.
That routine can leave your back, knees, and shoulders sore before the workday is done. It also creates a problem when tools, plans, laptops, and materials all compete for the same small space.
The Tailbreaker solves that problem by creating a stable work area behind your vehicle. The open tailgate stays available as your desk, workbench, or lunch table. Your tools and cargo stay within reach.

The anatomy of a real mobile work station
The Tailbreaker® 360°/180° Hitch-Mounted Dual Seating System is built around your truck’s steel frame.
The main black square-steel yoke slips into a standard 2-inch hitch receiver. The two black square-steel swing arms are permanently attached to that main yoke. They are not separate loose pieces. When stored, both arms fold parallel to the yoke for compact transport.
The two identical light gray molded polymer ergonomic seats pop onto the swing arms. Each seating position swivels 360 degrees on its own axis. Each swing arm pivots 180 degrees independently and offers two height settings.
This independent design gives you control over the entire work area. You can change the position of one seating position without moving the other.
The system supports up to 275 pounds per seating position and uses a heavy-duty powder-coated steel frame. It is also UV-resistant and built for outdoor work.
For setup, slide the yoke into the hitch receiver and turn the quick-locking knob. No additional tools are needed. Once you know the system, it sets up in under 30 seconds.

Four ways to configure your jobsite HQ
The Tailbreaker is not a fixed platform. Its two independent swing arms and 360-degree swivel positions let you change the setup as the job changes.
1. Swing out over water, scenery, or open space
This configuration is useful when your work truck is parked near a slope, shoreline, or open view. Swing the seating positions away from the truck while keeping your gear and tailgate behind you.
For first responders and field crews, this can also create a clear view of the active area while keeping supplies close.
2. Swing to the side for conversation
Turn the two seating positions to the side for face-to-face conversations. This works well for:
- Reviewing a job with a customer
- Talking through a repair with a crew member
- Checking measurements with a helper
- Taking a short break with a coworker
- Waiting for a delivery or concrete pour
Because the swing arms move independently, each person can choose their own angle.
3. Swing inward toward the tailgate
This is the core jobsite seating setup. Swing the seating positions inward and use the open tailgate as a desk or workstation.
Keep your layout drawings, laptop, invoices, tape measure, tools, and materials on the tailgate. You stay elevated and supported while working instead of bending over the truck bed or kneeling on the ground.
A plumbing company owner described the difference this way:
“My guys keep the tailgate down to measure and cut pipe, sitting comfortably instead of hunching over. Come lunch break, they have a clean spot to sit that isn't the cab.”
That small change can make a long day feel much better on your back.
4. Table Mode
In Table Mode, one seating position folds flat with the cup holders within reach. Use it as a laptop desk, paperwork surface, or side table while the second seating position stays open and relaxed.
This is useful for:
- Jobsite paperwork
- Invoicing
- Reading plans
- Checking schedules
- Taking customer calls
- Reviewing inspection notes
- Charging or organizing small devices
Table Mode gives you a simple field office without adding a bulky desk to the truck.

A better workday from the first stop to the last
A good work truck accessory should help you use the truck you already own. Tailbreaker does that without taking away your cargo space.
Start the day by loading tools, materials, and paperwork into the bed. When you arrive, leave the tailgate open. Mount the Tailbreaker to the hitch in seconds and position the independent swing arms.
Now your truck can serve several jobs at once:
- The truck bed holds tools and materials.
- The open tailgate holds plans, devices, and supplies.
- The seating system keeps you off the wet or uneven ground.
- The swivel lets you turn toward the truck, crew, customer, or work area.
- The two height settings help you find a comfortable working position.
At lunch, stay off your feet and use the tailgate as a table. During a delay, handle estimates, invoicing, and paperwork. While waiting on a delivery or pour, sit comfortably without climbing into the cab.
The result is a mobile work station that supports both productivity and recovery.

Rugged design with room to grow
The Tailbreaker is built for outdoor use, with light gray molded polymer seating and a black powder-coated steel frame. The elevated design keeps you above mud, gravel, and wet ground. The seating positions do not rely on legs that can sink or tip.
When the workday ends, fold the swing arms parallel to the main yoke and store the system in the included premium branded carrying bag. The bag helps protect the system in your truck, van, garage, or gear area.
The design is also made for future-proof expandability. Tailbreaker’s quick-connect system is built to support future accessories and add-ons as your work setup grows.
You can also use the same system away from work. See how it supports a flexible van life setup, or explore more ideas in The Hitch-Mounted Revolution.
